Dollar General Fends Off Investor Suit Over Staffing, Pricing

Dollar General Corp. investors can’t proceed with their proposed class action alleging the retailer concealed that it understaffed stores and overcharged customers, at least as currently pleaded, a federal court ruled Tuesday.

The complaint “has failed to state any claim,” Judge Aleta A. Trauger said for the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. The investors didn’t adequately allege the retailer and its top executives had the necessary intent for securities fraud, Trauger said.
