Consumers could be fooled by Dole Packaged Foods LLC labels that say its Fruit Bowls are “in 100% fruit juice,” an Illinois federal judge said, advancing a proposed class suit alleging deception under Illinois consumer protection law.
Jamie Jackson bought the company’s “Mixed Fruit” product. She alleges the “in 100% fruit juice” representation is misleading because the ingredient list shows that the bowls also contain ascorbic acid and citric acid, which she says are added ingredients.
