DOJ Sues Five More States to Collect Voter Registration Data

The US Department of Justice sued another five states for refusing to turn over unredacted copies of their voter registration lists.

The DOJ’s Thursday lawsuits against Utah, Oklahoma, Kentucky, West Virginia, and New Jersey join 25 others the department filed in recent months in an attempt to collect sensitive information on registered voters in each state.

The administration is seeking a list of every registered voter’s full name, date of birth, address, and either driver’s license or the last four digits of their Social Security number allegedly to ensure states are maintaining accurate voter rolls.
