DOJ Ordered to Produce Records on Effort to Compile Voter Data

The US Department of Justice must expedite records requests from a nonprofit watchdog related to its efforts to compel states to hand over copies of their voter registration lists.

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington is likely to succeed in showing that it’s entitled to expedited processing, and faces irreparable harm from any delay because its Freedom of Information Act requests relate “directly to the conduct of impending elections,” the US District Court for the District of Columbia said Thursday.
