DOJ Appeals Texas Win Challenging Covid-Era Congress Proxy Votes

The federal government on Wednesday appealed a Trump judge’s decision to strike down portions of a $1.7 trillion spending package Congress passed without a quorum during Covid-19 lockdowns.

An appeal filed with the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit seeks to reverse a Feb. 27 order blocking legislation in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023.
