Doane University shed a sex bias and retaliation suit brought by its former women’s basketball head coach after she was fired for numerous complaints from her staff, who quit, and varsity players expressing “dread.”
Sheronda Powell sued under Title VII and Title IX, but the US District Court for the District of Nebraska granted summary judgment to the university. Judge Brian C. Buescher also denied the university’s motion to exclude expert testimony as moot on Oct. 3.
