Disney Resort’s Tool Requirement Spurs California Labor Lawsuit

A subsidiary of Walt Disney Co. required maintenance engineers at Disneyland parks and hotels to provide their own tools for the job, triggering a host of wage violations, according to allegations in a proposed class action filed Thursday.

Because Walt Disney Parks and Resorts US Inc. allegedly required assistant maintenance engineers and maintenance engineers to pay for their own hand tools, they should have been paid double minimum wage, according to the complaint filed in Orange County Superior Court.
