Disney, CAA to Face Ormond Claims in Weinstein Assault Case (1)

Walt Disney Co., Creative Artists Agency, and Miramax Holding Corp. failed to shed allegations they neglected to protect British actress Julia Ormond from being sexually assaulted in 1995 by the now-imprisoned Harvey Weinstein.

New York Supreme Court Justice Suzanne Adams on Monday denied Miramax, Disney, and CAA’s motions to dismiss the claims against them, saying Ormond had sufficiently alleged the companies knew, or should have known, about the potential for assault to happen and failed to protect her.
