Disney, ABC Lose Bid to End Black Worker’s Race Bias Lawsuit

The Walt Disney Co. and subsidiary American Broadcasting Cos. must face a Black ex-employee’s suit alleging they treated her worse than colleagues because of her race and retaliated against her for speaking up.

The worker sufficiently alleged that she faced a higher workload for lower pay, lost out on promotions, and was forced to resign because of an intolerable work atmosphere, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said. The former employee also sufficiently alleged a supervisor berated her for taking her concerns to ABC’s human resources department, according to its Monday order.
