Dismissal of Campaign Finance Disclosure Suit Upheld on Appeal

A man who made small donations to politicians failed to revive his lawsuit challenging a federal law that required disclosure of his contributions.

Tony McDonald lacks standing to pursue his constitutional challenge against the Federal Election Commission, the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said in a per curiam opinion Monday. The appeals court affirmed the district court’s ruling to dismiss McDonald’s lawsuit for lacking standing due to his failure to allege an Article III injury.
