Discover Call Center Workers Seek Approval of FLSA Settlement

A Discover Financial Services Inc. call center collective asked a district court to give them preliminary approval of a proposed $15 million settlement ending their Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit.

The employees are seeking initial certification of a settlement class of roughly 25,000 workers, approval of the agreement, appointment of five class representatives and Sommers Schwartz PC as class counsel, according to a memorandum filed Monday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. They allege Discover failed to pay them for off-the-clock work related to logging into computer systems.
