DHI Mortgage Company to Face Revived Class Employment Claims

A former loan officer for DHI Mortgage Co. can proceed with his class employment claims in a federal court because the arbitration agreement he signed wasn’t properly formed, the Ninth Circuit ruled Wednesday.

Robert Ahlstrom says that DHI Mortgage Co. misclassified him and the proposed class as exempt employees and didn’t give them meal or rest breaks. The company also failed to pay overtime and double-time wages, and earned commissions, according to the complaint.
