Deutsche Bank Denied New Trial, Must Pay Interest in Ponzi Case

Deutsche Bank AG lost its bid for a new trial and is liable for just one day of prejudgment interest following a $95 million jury award over allegations it ignored red flags in a Ponzi scheme, according to a post-trial order.

The bank will pay $16,587, a more modest prejudgment interest than the $38 million plaintiff’s sought, Judge Beth Bloom of the the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida said Monday in her order partially granting plaintiffs’ motion.
