Deutsche Bank Again Can’t Recoup Billionaire’s $236 Million Debt

Deutsche Bank AG can’t collect a $236 million English court judgment from companies affiliated with Norwegian billionaire Alexander Vik, a Delaware court said.

The bank didn’t show a pre-existing relationship between itself and the defendants, or that they knew about a decade-old English judgment, said Vice Chancellor Sam Glasscock III of the Delaware Court of Chancery, dismissing Deutsche’s fraud and conspiracy claims against the defendants. “Deutsche has failed to state a claim for fraud or for civil conspiracy” against defendant Devon Park Entities, Glasscock said Wednesday.
