Deutsche Bank AG eagerly sought out Donald Trump as a high-net-worth client, referred to internally as a “whale,” due to his successful real estate deals, the banker who arranged hundreds of millions of dollars in loans to him said during the former president’s civil fraud trial.

Rosemary Vrablic, who worked with wealthy individuals at Deutsche Bank from 2006 to 2020, testified Wednesday about her efforts to land Trump as a client in 2011, when the Trump Organization needed financing to buy a Florida golf course.
