The Detroit Tigers convinced a federal judge to stay a case brought by two of its former scouts, who allege the organization fired them due to their age.
A case pending in a New York district court involves the same parties with nearly identical claims to this case in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Judge Brandy R. McMillion said in a Monday order. Although McMillion declined to dismiss the Michigan suit, she stayed the case until after the New York case is resolved to avoid duplicative discovery and potentially conflicting outcomes.
