Dershowitz Spared Sanctions in Arizona Voting Case, Court Says

Alan Dershowitz won’t be held personally liable for representing failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake because of his “of counsel” status, but sanctions will stick for two other lawyers who represented Lake, the Ninth Circuit said.

In a pair of split-panel rulings, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Friday affirmed sanctions on attorneys Andrew Parker and Kurt Olsen, concluding that the district court didn’t abuse its discretion in awarding attorneys’ fees under Rule 11(c), because they made “false, misleading, and unsupported factual assertions” in their first amended complaint and motion for preliminary injunction “and did not ...
