Denny’s Servers Want Partial Wage Settlement Agreement Greenlit

A group of Denny’s Inc. servers asked a federal court to approve their proposed settlement agreement worth more than $430,000 to resolve some unfair compensation claims.

The workers, led by Sarah Gower, allege that Denny’s underpaid tipped workers and frequently required servers to perform non-tipped work unrelated to their serving duties. On Thursday they asked Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand of the US District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania to preliminarily approve the unopposed settlement, which would release Pennsylvania labor subclass and Federal Labor Standards Act collective claims.
