A group of more than 4,900 Del Monte Foods Inc. production employees is seeking final approval for a $2 million settlement in their wages-and-hours suit.
Class representatives Derek Stewart and Javonte Williams allege Del Monte failed to pay production line workers overtime they worked during meal periods, provide them uninterrupted rest periods, and compensate them for incurred supply equipment expenses. The US District Court for the Northern District of California preliminarily approved the settlement and conditionally certified the class in January 2024 after the parties finalized the terms through a neutral mediator.
