Deaconess Illinois Patient Advances Suit Over Meta Info Sharing

Deaconess Illinois Union County Hospital Inc. must face three claims of a proposed class action alleging it disclosed the personal health information of patients to Meta Platforms Inc., Google LLC, and Microsoft Corp. in violation of state and federal wiretapping and privacy laws.

The anonymous lead plaintiff adequately pleaded claims of negligence, negligence per se, and violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel of the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois said Monday.
