A group of transgender women couldn’t convince a split federal appeals court to affirm court orders to stop their transfer to male prisons under a Trump executive order.

The Bureau of Prison’s endeavor to move the 18 plaintiffs from female correctional facilities to male facilities was a constitutional move made to comply with Executive Order 14168, the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said Friday in ruling the plaintiffs weren’t likely to succeed with their Eighth Amendment claims.
