Washington DC is permitted to require concealed carry licensees to holster pistols on their bodies, rather than keeping them in a purse, bag, or vehicle glove box, a federal court ruled.
“In sum, this regulation is not an effective denial of the right to bear arms,” Senior Judge John D. Bates of the US District Court for the District of Columbia said in an opinion granting the District’s motion for summary judgment. “Instead, it is a modest burden on manner of carry for public safety reasons,” Bates said.
