Dave Franco, Alison Brie Can’t Avoid Copyright Suit Over Film

Dave Franco and Alison Brie can be held liable for Studiofest LLC’s copyright claims centered on their screenplay of the body horror film “Together,” a federal court said.

Studiofest plausibly alleged “substantial similarities in plot, sequence of events, and theme” between “Together” and the studio’s “Better Half” film, the US District Court for the Central District of California said in a Feb. 20 opinion rejecting Franco and Brie’s motion to dismiss.
