Dallas Allowed to Put Curfew on Sexually Oriented Businesses (1)

Dallas can prohibit “sexually oriented businesses” from operating between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., a Texas federal district court ruled.

An ordinance the city adopted in 2022 restricting hours of operation for adult cabarets and other businesses doesn’t violate the First Amendment, Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn of the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said in an opinion docketed June 13, granting summary judgment to the city.
