Daiso Gets Most Claims Dismissed in Tree Nut Allergy Suit

Daiso California LLC convinced a federal judge to dismiss most claims in a would-be class suit centered on whether their English-langauge snack labels didn’t disclose tree nut ingredients.

Makiko Fukaya sued the retailer of Japanese goods after she had a violent allergic reaction to a Daiso’s Tiramisu Twist Cookie that she bought in in Daly City, Calif. The company imports its products from Japan and places an English-language label sticker on top of the ingredients list written in Japanese.
