Daiso California LLC convinced a federal judge to dismiss most claims in a would-be class suit centered on whether their English-langauge snack labels didn’t disclose tree nut ingredients.
Makiko Fukaya sued the retailer of Japanese goods after she had a violent allergic reaction to a Daiso’s Tiramisu Twist Cookie that she bought in in Daly City, Calif. The company imports its products from Japan and places an English-language label sticker on top of the ingredients list written in Japanese. Fukaya says after her reaction started peeled the sticker back and saw that the Japanese ingredient list included tree nut ingredients. ...
