CVS Stuck With Privacy Suit Over Third-Party Online Trackers

A proposed privacy class action against CVS Pharmacy Inc. will proceed, after a California federal judge allowed most claims stemming from its use of third-party website trackers to go through.

Plaintiff Justin Brewer said that he started to receive targeted advertising for over-the-counter medical products related to serious medical condition after looking up options at CVS. He sought to represent a class of people who had their private information shared by CVS’ third-party trackers, according to the US District Court for the Central District of California.
