CVS Health Hit With Insurance Reviewers’ Overtime Allegations

CVS Health Corp. owes workers who review insurance authorization requests pay for their extra hours after allegedly misclassifying them as exempt from overtime protections, a new suit says.

Employees who review insurance authorization requests regularly work 45 to 60 hours per week, but CVS Health treated them as exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act’s overtime requirements until recently, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
