Curaleaf Inc. has reached a confidential settlement with an Oregon man, resolving allegations that Select CBD drops—although marketed as a cannabidiol product—contained psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol that caused him to suffer disturbing effects.
Michael Lopez said after ingesting the drops, he was taken by ambulance to an emergency room out of concern he was having a stroke. Lopez said he became confused and suffered a fear of death, anxiety, and distress for several hours. The drops were tainted with THC because of quality control issues, he alleged.
