Cupertino Electric Inc. will pay $740,520 to settle a proposed class action alleging the company failed to protect the personal information of nearly 25,000 people that was exposed in a 2023 data breach, under a deal given final approval in federal district court in California.
Each class member will be eligible for a payment of up to $5,000 to cover out-of-pocket losses related to the breach, or a pro rata share of the settlement fund after attorneys’ fees and costs are deducted. Judge
