Pixi Inc. dupes consumers into believing its skincare products with prominent “Collagen” labels actually contain the ingredient when they instead use a synthetic extract, a proposed consumer class action alleged.
Instead of collagen, the skincare products contain “a fake imitation of collagen derived from a synthetic extract of the bark and stems of the Acacia seyal tree,” according to the complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Pixi didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
