CSX Worker Who Posted About Crash Can’t Revive Suit Over Firing

A former locomotive engineer with CSX Transportation Inc. lost his bid to revive a lawsuit challenging the company’s decision to fire him because of a social media post, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said.

Kirk E. Knopp in 2019 used his personal social media account to post a comment about a man being being struck and killed by a CSX train. CSX terminated his employment after concluding that his conduct violated the company’s social media policy, the appeals court said.
