Some CSX Transportation Inc. employees across the country allege that the freight rail company unlawfully discourages employees from utilizing leave under the Family Medical Leave Act in a new class action complaint.
The employees allege CSX engaged in a “pattern and practice” of discouragement and retaliation in order to save “significant sums of money by reducing its total workforce,” according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. They say that they filed suit after CSX objected to them joining a similar class action as named plaintiffs in the District of Maryland.
