Cryptocurrency services provider Transak USA LLC neglected to protect the personal information of more than 23,000 people that was exposed in a September 2024 data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
The consumer lawsuit alleges that Transak breached its duties to implement reasonable and adequate data security measures and provide timely notice of the incident.
Information exposed in the breach included names, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
