Crypto.com is backing out of its lawsuit against the US Securities and Exchange Commission over the regulator’s intention to sue it for operating as an unregistered broker-dealer and securities clearing agency.
The digital-asset exchange gave notice of voluntary dismissal Monday and Judge Jeremy D. Kernodle ordered the suit dismissed with prejudice on Tuesday, according to filings in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. A spokesperson for Crypto.com said in a statement Monday that it intends to work with the incoming Trump administration on a regulatory framework for the industry.
