Crafted Brand Sued Over Cocktail Mixer ‘No Preservatives’ Label

Crafted Brand Co. was hit with a new proposed class suit alleging it deceptively markets Mai Tai and Pina Colada cocktail mixers as having “no preservatives” to attract health-minded consumers.

“Across the globe, consumers are increasingly attuned to claims that foods are all-natural, minimally processed, or otherwise free of artificial flavors or preservatives,” Jacob Scheibe alleges.

Scheibe, who says he eats “for health” and reviews labels “to ensure that he avoids preservatives,” alleges that Crafted’s labeling is false because the products contain citric acid, a common preservative.
