Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Inc. allegedly violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to pay tipped workers minimum wage for non-tipped tasks, a new lawsuit said.
Catherine Frederick filed a class action lawsuit against Cracker Barrel in the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee on Monday, alleging that the company has a common practice of asking tipped employees to complete tasks at the beginning or end of their shift that don’t generate tips. The complaint said tipped employees doing non-tipped tasks are entitled to the federal minimum wage.
