A former hype man for rapper “Fat Joe” convinced a federal court to cut a claim in a defamation suit alleging he falsely accused the rapper of various crimes on social media.
Rapper Joseph Cartagena failed to properly plead an intentional infliction of emotional distress claim, but his remaining claims contained enough legal and factual support to avoid sanctions, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said in a Tuesday opinion.
