Court Revives Facebook Challenge to FTC Settlement Revision (1)

Meta Platforms Inc.'s challenge to an FTC enforcement action in a long-running privacy dispute over Facebook’s use of consumer data can be considered by a federal district court, according to a Friday appellate ruling.

The agency accused Meta in 2023 of breaching an earlier FTC order over its mishandling of consumer data that required the tech giant to pay a $5 billion fine and implement privacy oversight mechanisms.
