Court Rejects Effort to Suppress Girardi Law Firm’s Records

Disbarred attorney Thomas Girardi, along with his now-defunct firm’s head of accounting, Christopher K. Kamon, lost their bid to suppress evidence in a criminal case against them.

Girardi faces wire fraud charges in Illinois and California for allegedly embezzling millions of dollars from clients of Girardi Keese, his now-bankrupt LA-based law firm. Girardi and his co-defendants have pleaded not guilty. Since the firm’s December 2020 Chapter 7 Bankruptcy filing, an appointed trustee has been providing the firm’s business records to the US government, said Judge Josephine L. Staton, of the US District Court for the Central District of California.
