Court OKs PFAS Deals So More Clean Water Flows to Georgia City

A federal district court in Georgia has approved two class settlements that will bring more drinking water to Summerville, Ga., which has too much PFAS in its water supply due to biosolids spread upstream on farms and other properties.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Georgia approved on Wednesday two separate settlements offering a total of $1.25 million. Chemical producer Huntsman International LLC offered $750,000, while Mount Vernon Mills Inc. and the Town of Trion, Ga., offered $500,000.
