The Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, tried to convince a federal judge Thursday to dismiss a lawsuit by three individuals who took the notoriously difficult test and alleged the organization conducted a sham investigation into a cheating scandal of which they weren’t a part yet had their credentials withdrawn.
The three sommeliers’ first amended complaint accuses the Napa-based Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas, of breaching its fiduciary duty by conducting an inadequate investigation into the second scandal in a decade over the examination.
