A workers’ compensation coordination company has been impersonating certified court interpreters in California cases, jeopardizing the rights of injured workers who aren’t proficient in English, a group of interpreters alleged.
One Call Corp. bills itself as having the country’s largest pool of interpreters for workers’ compensation depositions, according to the complaint filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. But employees who aren’t certified interpreters have been posing as Californians who are, including as members of the Association of Independent Judicial Interpreters of California, according to the suit.
