Court Ends Ex-COO’s Suit Claiming Reprisal After Whistleblowing

The former chief operating officer of a California-based security guard service can’t keep pursuing retaliatory discharge and other claims in a federal court in California.

Slavisa Rasic’s case was dismissed without prejudice Thursday by the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Judge Beth Labson Freeman said the court lacked subject matter jurisdiction because Rasic and United Security Specialists Inc.'s holding company, Sentinel Holdings Ltd., are based in Nevada.
