Court Approves $45 Million Settlement in Walmart Mispricing Suit

A $45 million settlement over Walmart‘s alleged overpricing of weighted goods or bagged citrus at its stores received final approval from a federal judge.

Vassilios Kukorinis alleged in the class action that the retail giant charged consumers more than the lowest in-store advertised price for the goods typically priced by weight, in some cases discounted because they were close to expiration. United States and Puetro Rico consumers between Oct. 2018 and Jan. 2024 can recover up to $25 without documentation, or $500 with documentation, subject to a “potential pro rata increase or decrease,” according to the order from Judge ...
