Costco Sheds PFAS Safety False-Ad Suit Over Kirkland Baby Wipes

Costco Wholesale Corp. convinced a federal judge to dismiss a proposed class action alleging its Kirkland Signature Baby Wipes were deceptively advertised as safe despite containing excessive per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

“‘PFAS’ is not a magic word that can be invoked to open automatically the doors to federal litigation,” Judge Richard Seeborg of the US District Court for the Northern District of California said Feb. 14.
