Cosmetology Schools, Students Score Wins in Salon Work Wage Case

Cosmetology schools and students who say they deserve pay for some work performed alongside training each notched partial wins in their long-running wage-and-hour case in federal court in Michigan.

Douglas J. Holdings Inc. and related entities won partial summary judgment on one of the three task segments at issue, the students won on a second, and it’s up to a jury to decide whether the third is compensable, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said.
