CorrectCare to Pay $6.49 Million to Settle Data Breach Lawsuit

CorrectCare LLC would pay $6.49 million to settle allegations it failed to protect the personal information of nearly 650,000 people that was exposed in a January 2022 data breach, under a deal given initial approval by a federal court.

The revised deal, approved one month after the court had rejected an earlier version over fairness concerns, stipulates that the payments for claimants with documented out-of-pocket losses would be limited to one-half of the net settlement fund.
