A federal judge severed and remanded to state court some consumer protection claims for injunctive relief in a proposed class action alleging auction company Copart Inc. misrepresented vehicle conditions.

The US District Court for the Central District of California said it lacked jurisdiction over claims for equitable relief under California’s Unfair Competition Law and False Advertising Law because the lead plaintiff was seeking money damages under other claims.
