Convictions for Two California Lawyers Lead to Their Disbarment

Two San Diego attorneys are no longer licensed to practice law after convictions in court, the California Bar said Monday.

Enrique Elliot Adler admitted in the US District Court for the Southern District of California conspiring with Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, the former director of the Chabad of Poway religious organization, to disguise money given to Goldstein as charitable or religious donations, the bar said. The funds were secretly funneled to Adler, who pocketed 90% of the money and failed to report $500,000 over eight years.
