Contractor Loses $160 Million Forest Service Contract Challenge

TechTrend Inc. failed to upend the US Forest Service’s award of a $160 million contract to Dynamo Technologies LLC to provide information technology services.

The US Government Accountability Office denied TechTrend’s protest, in a decision released Wednesday. The Forest Service’s decision was “reasonable and consistent with the terms of the solicitation,” and was “based on the highest technically rated quotation with a fair and reasonable price,” the GAO said.

TechTrend argued that the agency failed “to meaningfully explain and document” its rationale for awarding the contract to Dynamo.
